For many people marriage is something so special that they want to have the opportunity to ask God to support them and bless them as they marry.  Getting married in church is a great way to express that.  One of our clergy will take the service but you are free to involve friends and family in the service where this is appropriate.

For those who are planning to get married we offer a Marriage Preparation course. This will help you to be ready for some of the joys and pitfalls ahead! Each year our couples find this really helpful preparation not just for their wedding day but also for their life-long marriage.

The Church of England has regulations about who can be married in a parish church. If you would like to get married here it's a good idea to talk to the Vicar as soon as possible to check whether you are able to do so.

Weddings are normally held on a Saturday, but can be held on other days if the church building and clergy are available.

If you are marrying at another church and require your Banns of Marriage to be read at Christ Church, then please contact the Church Office for the relevant form.
