Church Walk Our next church walk is today, Sunday 6th October. Meet at the church car park in Dudley Street at 2pm for walk around the embankment and tea with Pat Mathias.
Malawi 2020 & 2021 Plans for future visits to Home of Hope are underway: Adults in 2020, and Teens in 2021. To find out more come to an information meeting 3.30-5pm TODAY, Sunday 6th October in church.
Exploring and Growing your faith and your family’s faith
GROW Group – new course for all those recent (and fairly recent) Alpha guests wanting to know so much more. Studying: a Bible overview this term. Tuesdays at 7.30pm in church halls (Room 5). Still space to join. For more info, please see Michael Bishop.
Alpha –Course continues Tuesday 8th October at 7.30pm. Alpha explores the meaning of life over 10 weeks, whilst finding out about Jesus and the Christian faith. Topics include: Who is Jesus? Why did he die? How do I pray? Does God guide? How do I read the Bible? Each session involves refreshments, a talk and discussion. Is this for you or for a friend/ neighbour? Invitation cards are available in church and in the Hub.
Open to ALL Parish Meetings about the Admission of Children to Communion before Confirmation will be held on Sunday 20th October (Room 5) and Wed. 23rd October, both after the 10am services. For a copy of PCC briefing paper, please ask the church office.
Home Groups – Sunday morning sermon series always bears further discussion. Home groups offer opportunities to deepen faith & friendships as we live out our faith during the week. Groups meet at different times/locations. Some have vacancies. To join a group, contact our coordinators: John Bell and Pauline Barber

Key Voluntary roles available
AV Team Audio-Visual operators - Do you enjoy being able to follow our services on the screen? Please consider joining the AV team! We need more volunteers to help project our services – approx. once/month. Full training given. Please speak to David Currie.
Sound Desk Operators Would you like to be an important part of the services in Christ Church? If so we are looking for more people to help operate the sound desk. This is a vital job without which it would be very difficult for everyone to participate in the services. No previous knowledge or experience required as full training will be given. Please speak to Simon Platt.
Lock Up Security Team – We need a few more people to join the team locking up at about 10pm? Full induction and training provided. It takes about 10 minutes to walk round, check the locks and secure the main doors. Will you join them and walk round one evening a week/fortnight for this vital role? If you are interested in offering or would like to know more please contact Dawn Hire.
World Day of Prayer - conference Monday 21st October
