Travel Survey – as part of our environmental commitment and planning permission, today there is a ‘jam jar’ travel survey. Can you environmentally change your journey to church? Can you use the school playground as the place to park your car?

Confirmation Service – Sunday 25th November 6.30pm. Please support our candidates: Briony and Min Min; those from Milton Ernest and Pavenham (Peter Kay’s parish): Natalie, Cecilia and Katherine; and those from Kempston and Biddenham: Katherine, Peter and Melissa. Castle Newnham School south site will be open for car parking and there is a collection towards training Diocesan candidates for ordination.

PCC update from its meeting last week

PCC noted the following key matters for all our prayers and action:

Our 2018 ‘£20000 shortfall’ needs prayer to be covered, and an additional £3900 for the urgent need to replace the church projector, which is at the end of its serviceable life.

Our 2019 budget was approved which showed a faith increase in giving of £50,000

Our HRV shortfall is looking much better, and projected as under £100,000. Snagging and operational issues continue and prayer for their swift sorting is requested.

Children’s and Youth strategy was reviewed and thanks offered to Becky and AJ for the good news, and concern and encouragement for areas of present weakness.

PCC wants to review our worship services, but has to return to this at its January meeting.

Please pray for God to provide all we need, and give as you are able.

The Culture of Invitation workshop is for churches and Individuals who want to get better at becoming invitational. Most churches call themselves welcoming, but not many would name themselves as welcoming and inviting. The workshop will be presented by author Michael Harvey who has researched what it means to be an Invitational Church across 18 countries and 5 continents.

The workshop will be interactive, and will include an opportunity to research your own local situation and make a comparison with other churches. It will be fun and highly suited to churches who want an example of a practical outworking of Living God’s Love
