Malawi Car WashTODAY – Move your car now – 9:30am-Noon. Price £5.00 Venue: Castle Newnham School Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3EP. Fundraiser to help send the teens out to Malawi in the summer of 2019.

Confirmation (and/or Baptism) – our next such service is Sunday 25th November at 6.30pm with Bishop Michael. This is a great opportunity to affirm publicly your faith. Anyone interested in exploring Confirmation (and/or Baptism), please speak to Richard Hibbert ASAP. There are 7 preparation meetings, exploring Christian faith and practice, Sundays – 4.30-6pm.
Alpha next course starts on Tuesday 2nd October in Christ Church Halls with light refreshments. Alpha explores the meaning of life over 10 weeks, whilst finding out about Jesus and the Christian faith. Topics include: Who is Jesus? Why did he die? How do I pray? Does God guide? Is this for you this autumn or for a friend/neighbour? Invitation cards available.
Ladies Social Thursday 4th October 7.30-9pm. Meet at Papillon, 133 Castle Road. for chat/drinks and cake. If possible, please sign up in church as this helps the cafe have an idea of numbers for catering, or just turn up if that is easier for you. All ladies welcome.

Harvest celebration: If you have any greenery to donate for Harvest decorating please can you bring it to Christ Church on Saturday October 6th, between 9 and 10 am.
We are also asking for donations of fresh fruit and vegetables plus tinned/packeted foods which will be donated to Food Bank after the Harvest weekend (suggested items below). Thank you! Please contact Ruth Templeman with any queries.

Diddy Disciples – a creative, playful new worship & Bible storytelling resource for babies, toddlers & young children, aiming to encourage participation, discipleship & leadership from children’s earliest years, using storytelling, singing, colour, repetition, art and lots and lots of movement! Christ Church will be launching Diddy Disciples, and with the Diocese, have organised an evening introducing Diddy Disciples with the author Sharon Moughtin-Mumby (Jen McAdam's sister). The evening will explore the 7 principles of Diddy Disciples and a sample session. Date: Thursday 18th October; Time: 7.30-9.30pm; Venue: Church Halls. Refreshments provided. Operation Christmas Child Bob the Butcher from 113 Castle Road is collecting for this charity. In particular he is looking for donations to help with postage costs.
Bedford Foodbank help needed in Logistics of delivering and collecting from Christ Church on Tuesdays between Noon and 4pm approx. This involves driving a 3.5tonne van from the warehouse in Manton Heights and unloading at CCB. Full training for driving, lifting and moving the loads. Flexible volunteering throughout, including lifting/not lifting. “This is a great way to serve the local community who are struggling with life challenges and need short term help” Nigel Greenslade has more details – see him on Sunday.
Bedford Foodbank – Specific food requests:Jars of Pasta Sauce, 250g/500g rice, teabags (40s/80s), jam, tinned vegetables/fruit/tuna/casseroles/stews/spaghetti/rice pudding. Please place items in the Foodbank collection box in The Hub (by the refreshment area).
New Wine United 2019: This family conference offers great worship, excellent seminars/ talks, entertainment, activities and groups for all young people. Dates: week 1: 27th July-2nd Aug, week 2: 4th-10th Aug. To join those going, speak to Laura Jewell or AJ Wade.
