Preparing to spread God’s Good News this 2018 and beyond
We face an important decision as Christ’s people, worshipping here.
For some years, our income has remained steady at about £300,000pa. That has provided for our staffing needs, mission support and running costs. Expenditure has often been trimmed by the delayed replacement of staff members, so no deficit has been recorded up to 2016.
2018 is the year when we have a full complement of staff and our new Church Centre comes on stream. However, over the past few years, though our income has remained steady, our costs are rising and we urgently need to review our giving as church members.
All the giving goes to help our Church spread the good news of God’s love, in Bedford, across all ages and through our mission partners around the world. Our mission partners are particularly feeling the effects of the lower Sterling exchange rate and are looking to us for further help – our giving to them is a percentage of our general income, so any increase in church income automatically helps them.
Please will you PRAY for God’s resourcing of all our ministry, will you ACT by listening to God’s prompt for you about increasing or beginning to give to our mission, and will you GIVE monthly by Standing Order with Gift Aid (if possible) so we can budget our income over the next year.
To set up a Standing Order, the Church account details are: Sort Code: 40-52-40 / Acct No. 00020562 / Christ Church PCC Bedford – or complete a SO form available in the church porch.
This is an urgent matter for prayer and action in these days as God’s people at Christ Church. Any increase you can make is a helpful increase.
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel. God knows our means and our abilities – let us trust Him to look after each of us as we serve Him and make His Good News known.
Thank you so much to all who came to the Uganda Lunch, for all who helped, cooked and contributed generously - £6000 already. There will be a box for items eg glasses, pens etc. for us to take, at the back of church this Sunday. Financial gifts can still be given this Sunday as well - please mark them clearly if they are for the Uganda appeal. Prayer card available next Sunday.
Data Consent Forms – Thank you to those who have already returned their data consent forms. Please return yours ASAP to the Collection Basket. Spare forms at the back of church.

Home Groups: January is an excellent month to join a Home Group. These groups meet in people's homes at various times both daytime and evening, providing opportunities for us all to be encouraged in our faith, deepen our friendships, pray with one another and discuss things in more depth as we live out our faith day by day. This term most groups will be discussing the issues raised by the Sunday morning sermon series. If you would like more info or to join a group please contact Susan Mountford.
