Church Family News
Harvest we are celebrating Harvest today: Sunday 1st October. Collection is for EpiscoCare for the work of Archbishop Mouneer and the Diocese of Egypt in supporting refugee families and fresh, tinned and packet foods for Bedford Foodbank. During the service the children, and anyone else who would like to, can bring the gifts forward to the front of the Church as a symbol of our thanks to God for all his gifts to us.
Stay after the 10am service to learn about EpiscoCare and then enjoy some 'Cup a soup' and bread. Bring your own mug!
Alpha Course – next session Weds 11th October exploring the meaning of life & the person of Jesus. Wednesdays @ 7pm contact church office for details – with 2 course meal
Alpha explores the meaning of life over the autumn term, finding out about following Jesus. Topics include: Who is Jesus? Why did he die? How do I pray? Each session involves refreshments, a talk & discussion. Invitation cards now available from the back of church.

Church Walk this afternoon meet at the main door of the church at 2.15pm or at the Gundrys at 2.30pm. Tea after the walk will be at the Gundrys.
Go4Gold onFriday 6th October 2-4pm. This month our seniors' social will be tea, cake and chat at the home of Janet and Gilbert Williams.
Richard's “Sabbatical” – Officially called Extended Study Leave (ESL). A fact Sheet is available from the Church Office or the website. NB: Richard is not available till 4th December, 2017

Confirmation (and/or Baptism) – our next service is Sunday 26th November at 6.30pm with Bp Richard. Anyone interested please speak to Paul Boulter. There are 7 preparation meetings, exploring Christian faith and practice, from TODAY Sunday 1st October – 4.30-6pm at 2 Abrahams Close.
The Marriage Course Do you wish to invest in your marriage? Nigel & Lesley Greenslade are hosting the Marriage Course, starting Thursday 5th October at 7:00pm with a meal, before video input and then discussion in couples. Couples spend time discussing issues like communication, finances and resolving conflict. For more information please contact Nigel & Lesley or speak to Paul Boulter.
Getting Your Kids Through Church - Without Them Ending Up Hating God Course
Worried about your children’s faith? Claire Broughton-Welsh is hosting a course aimed at parents from Care for the Family. Over 8 sessions it will look at issues around stages of faith, belonging, and creating a welcoming church and family environment. Starts on Thursday 5th October at 7:30pm, please contact Claire for more details.
Ladies Weekend Away 2017 Friday 20th - Sunday 22th October at The Garden House, Stamford. There are a few places left for staying over for the weekend. Ladies, do join us if you can or come for the day on Saturday. Contact Rachel Bennett and Laura Jewell.
Parenting Children Course – this has been postponed until the New Year.
Service of Prayer and Thanksgiving – we will once again be holding a service of reflection and thanksgiving for all those who have lost a loved one, whether family member or friend. The service will be on Sunday 29th October, beginning with tea together from 5.30pm before the service at 6.30pm. Invitation cards are available from the back of church.

One Week 'Wild' in Wilstead Woods Gareth and Fanie have successfully completed their One Week 'Wild' in Wilstead Woods challenge! Thank you to all who have sponsored them, helping money to be raised for the new Christ Church Halls. Kathryn Hughes will be collecting sponsorship money after the 10am Sunday services on 1/10 and 8/10.
Gospel of John Course A fortnightly study in John’s Gospel led by by Rev Lynda Klimas and Richard Janes. It starts on Tuesday 3rd October at 7.30pm at Maulden costing £50 (bursaries available). For more information please see www.goldproject.org or call Richard.
