A Word From Richard - God v Kabul chaos
Christ Church needs you.

As things open up again, Opportunities for ministry among us and beyond are detailed below:

Please pray for each of us to know God's nudge about the area of service in which we are called to offer.

Building lock up
As our halls begin to see more returning regular hirers and new groups joining, we hope to find a few more people who would be able to join the building lock up rota. This takes about 10 minutes and involves walking through the halls at the end of the day and checking that all the outer doors are locked. If you can help, please contact Dawn by emailing or by calling 07788 687011. Thank you.
Worship group musicians: instrumentalists and singers
New members of our morning worship team are needed. Please speak with Carolyn Barnes or the church office. Help us all sing the praises of our Lord more and more.

Our next Alpha course is running from Tuesday 28th September to 7th December (except half term week 26th October). It will be an in-person course (we hope) in Room 7. Please be thinking whether this course is for you at this time, or who you can invite.
Exploring Confirmation (and/or Baptism)
Taking your next step on your faith journey.  We will be holding a Confirmation Service at Christ Church at 7pm on 21st November.  We will shortly be arranging to meet those interested in exploring baptism and/or confirmation, so expressions of interest should be made to Richard Hibbert.
Ladies please book your place here for catering purposes.

Ruth Janes will be selling lots of freshly made marmalade in aid of the Home of Hope Malawi - Cash or cards accepted.
Welcomers and Sidespeople
We will be having a short meeting on Sunday 5th September after the All Age Service (approx 11.30am) in the Main Hall.  Please do grab a drink and join us.  If you have any particular joys or concerns that you would like to share, please let Kay Berrington or Kathy Priddin know prior to the meeting.
You are invited to a national “GOLD Theology Open Evening” via Zoom on Wednesday 8th September at 7:30pm. It is aimed at those wanting to know more about the various levels of Bible-based courses that we run, from discipleship-deepening level 1 courses to ministry-preparing level 3 courses.
We have had several Christ Church members who have attended these courses in the past. Some have gone on to leadership roles, whether full or part time, paid or unpaid; others have just benefited from getting to know their Bibles better amongst groups of like-minded believers.

The event will be led by the GOLD Theology Director and Christ Church member Richard Janes will be involved.

More information including the Zoom details can be found here.

This year long course (30 weeks) will be taking place at Christ Church on Thursdays (10.30am-4.30pm) from September.  Cost £200 per term.  This non-denominational course aims to equip Christians across Herts, Beds, Bucks & Northants with high quality training for people who want to be better equipped to serve the gospel in their churches and everyday front-lines. The Course covers the whole Bible in good detail, together with important doctrines and practical pastoral work. Using local course tutors, this is a great way to deepen and strengthen your Bible knowledge and learn to apply it. Former students include: Chris Stevens, Christine Harrison, Daniel Gicharu, Penelope Valleley, Sidney Miller and AJ Wade.  More details in the leaflet here.
