Attending services is permitted, subject to Government guidance on ‘Track & Trace’ [NHS COVID App QR code/Eventbrite/physical sign in], face coverings, 1m+ social distancing, no singing and no chatting within the church building.

Sundays @ Seven – our discussion and magazine-style service in the main hall. Relaxed 1 hour opportunity to enjoy conversation, interviews, discussion and response. Sitting on tables of 6 and usual church service restrictions apply. Please book your seat here (via Eventbrite) by 11am on Sunday 
 
Public worship in Church from 19th July

Government guidance has removed all restrictions to worship. Singing is permitted with some social distancing encouraged. To offer our Duty of Care to all, we strongly encourage face coverings to be worn at the busier services/events indoors (e.g. our Sunday 10.30am service). Live worship will resume from Wednesday 21st July and Sunday 25th July.

Church Family News
 
Welcome John and Jenny Miller (son of Sidney and Judy). John teaches at the Johannesburg Bible College and will be talking in our mission slot. John has recently agreed to be a Mission Partner of Christ Church. We support John’s work through the provision of bursaries to help poorer students taught by him.
Welcome to Katie Dawson, as she is baptised, as part of her journey of faith and preparing for the baptism of Ella, hers and Michael’s daughter, next month.
John Bell is leading the services at Wilstead and Houghton Conquest this morning, two parishes in our Deanery that are currently vacant.
 
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY AND EVENTS 
 
Sunday 18th July

Passports group is doing the last session on Jesus and Emotions series, this week is Excitement!

Please drop your children off at the Dudley Street entrance between 10:20-25am and collect at the end of the service or, if the service runs past 11:30am, children will be brought back into church to sit with their parents.


Wednesdays:
Rise and Shine is having a break for summer and will not be meeting until September. 
Little Fishes for under one's will continue through the summer weeks so please book in 
here if you can come. 

Summer Sundays
If you are coming to church at 10.30am throughout the summer holidays why not drop your children off for SPLASH: the chance for all-aged children to worship together. Please drop off at 10:25am Dudley Street entrance and let Ruth know you are coming.


This Saturday (17th July) at 10am join Worship Workout on Zoom! Perfect for children with lots of energy.  



Guardians of Ancora holiday club: Do you have a child who is a treasure seeker?! Then, the holiday club at Christ Church will be a fun-packed adventure of games, crafts, drama and music for them. The Marriage Course is a series of 7 video sessions, designed to help couples invest in their relationship and build a strong marriage.
It works really well for couples seeking to strengthen their relationship. Some couples do the course to intentionally invest in their relationship, others are looking to address more specific challenges. Either way, this course offers essential tools and practical ideas to help you build a relationship that lasts a lifetime. 
Richard will lead this from 4th August – all conversations between you and your partner are private. More details here.

New Wine will be gathering the family together again this summer – this time in local churches as well as in homes and gardens!  We here at CCB have teamed up with our friends at St John's and St Leonard's to bring you some of the action right here at Christ Church.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be able to enjoy, for free.

Each morning, 5-11s & their families can join the New Wine Kids live stream for games, pantomime, worship and teaching. Kids packs will help families engage with God in a life changing way, plus, the New Wine Family Augmented Reality (AR) App from Missional Generation is back - with stories, games, activities, prayer & worship.  This is in person from 9.30-10.30am at Christ Church.
 
Luminosity Luminosity is an exciting programme for 11-18s. Each day we gather at Christ Church for the Morning Celebration with Bible teaching and high energy worship at 11am followed by the Evening Celebration at 7pm. Check out weareluminosity.org for more information, and to register for all the talks and workshops, and everything else that's happening throughout the day for you to enjoy at home too.Arena is New Wine's main adult-oriented stream at United Breaks Out and here is a taste of what you will be able to enjoy...
In the mornings (starting at 11am), we gather together for Bible Teaching led by David Parker, Pastor Emeritus of Desert Vineyard Church in California. Followed by a series of teachings led by different guest speakers each day including: Genelle Aldred; KP Yohannan; Lauren Windle; Jordan Seng, and Rich Wilson.
In the evenings (starting at 7pm), we will gather again for worship, teaching, prayer ministry and more with different keynote speakers each evening, including: Paul Harcourt, Amy Orr-Ewing, Katia Adams, Sebastian Skatset, Anu Georgen, and Agu Irukwu.
So why not join us in person for this great opportunity to gather and worship together, to listen to some excellent teaching, and to simply be in the presence of God.

Church Walk

Sunday Walks The next walk will be Sunday 18th July, led by John & Fiona and meeting in the Dudley Street church car park at 2pm and bring money to purchase refreshments from Longholme Cafe.
 

Go 4 Gold

Go 4 Gold (Seniors’ Support Group) next meets on Friday 23rd June in the church halls and church, from 2-3pm for an opportunity for a Summer Singalong with John Hartup. If you need contact Rachel Bennett for further details.

Will Eves: Fundraising for Hope for Justice
 
Will Eves is running 20 miles as part of the Bedford Running Festival on 5 Sept to raise awareness of Modern Slavery and to raise money for Hope for Justice.  Our Hope for Justice, Bedford group is a supported organisation of our Mission Impact Group. His Just Giving page is here 
 

Vacancies


Administrator: Caring well for your church and halls!   
BIG (Buildings Impact Group) is looking for an Administrator to ensure all regular servicing and maintenance tasks for the church and halls are completed across the year.
We have a spreadsheet of works ready to go, showing what and when needs actioning. This key role ensures each task is successfully done when needed, working with the Site Manager (Vandon) as necessary.
Maximum flexibility: est. 6-8 hours/month, based at home and/or church office.

Bedford Foodbank - We welcome appropriate items for FOODBANK – most needed food items at the moment are tinned: tuna, ham (small), fruit, peas, carrots and sweetcorn; UHT milk, cup a soup, rice (250g / 500g/ 1kg) and long-life fruit juice and non-food items: tin openers, washing-up liquid, anti-bac spray, deodorant (unisex), tissues, hand cream and ‘Bags for Life’. Collection basket in the Hub.
